MTI’s Karen Philbrick
Karen Philbrick fell in love with the field of transportation when she got involved in a transportation research project while earning her PhD in psychology. She joined the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University in 2009 as Research Director, becoming Deputy Executive Director a couple of years later and being named Executive Director in July 2014.
In this podcast she recorded for boardsavvytransitceo.com, Karen provides an overview of MTI’s history, mission and four primary functions – research, education, technology transfer, and workforce development – and goes on to describe how she works with the MTI Board of Directors.
